Blue silica gel divided into blue silica gel indicator, chromotropic blue silica gel and blue silica gel. Appearance is blue or light blue glass-like pellets. According to the shape it can be divided into two kinds of spherical or lumpy. An ambient humidity indicator developed from utilizing different color of different cobalt chloride hydrate, having characterastics of turning from blue to red after adsorbing moisture.
【use】
1. Mainly used for protection of instruments, gauges and equipments in the enclosed conditions. By adsorption of moisture in the air, blue silica gel keeps them form rusting and air condensation making interference or short circuit, while through its own change in color indicates the relative humidity of the environment.
2. With pore silica gel or other desiccant mixture or in combination, it may direct the desiccant drying capacity and to determine the relative humidity of the environment, widely used in precision instruments, weapons, ammunition, leather, clothing, food, medicines, electrical appliances, relics, books and so on.
